The Truth Hurts But is Necessary

THE TRUTH HURTS BUT IS NECESSARY

 Article #123 (12/06/2022)

Guiding Living Epistles Ministries, Pastor Sheila R. Vitale is a teacher and author who focuses on a spiritual view that encompasses the esoteric Judeo-Christian tradition. In a Living Epistles Ministries article, Pastor Vitale describes the concept of a “price to pay for the truth.”

Because the devil does not want one to have the truth, he will attempt to seduce you away from it with pleasure. For example, he might send you to a church with uplifting music and doctrine. Even though you only see them every Sunday and are thus not quite a part of their group, they make you feel good, and that’s enough.

However, coming to a church where the truth comes out will make you feel pain. There is no one there to pat you on the back once a week. Instead, genuine relationships develop, and sometimes two ideas contradict each other. Truth hurts because it often involves admitting that you believed a lie.

Also, admitting it may require building relationships with people you don’t agree with 100 percent. You may feel challenged by the Lord to such an extent that you disagree with him doctrinally but still find fellowship. And this is the basis of respecting the Lord through respecting other human beings.
