Believing God’s Whole Word Is the First Step to Believing in God
BELIEVING GOD'S WHOLE WORD IS
THE FIRST STEP TO BELIEVING IN GOD
Article #121 (11/30/2022)
Based in Port Jefferson Station, New York, Living Epistles Ministries is a Christian ministry founded by Pastor Sheila R. Vitale. The ministry publishes books and articles to expound on the Scripture. One of Living Epistles Ministries’ teachings concerns the Book of John, verse 24. It reads, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my Word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.”
According to Pastor Vitale, the first part of the verse, “He that heareth my Word,” is telling believers that to receive everlasting life, they must accept the entirety of the truth that is the Word of God. That Word is the whole Bible. “Heareth” does not just mean hear but rather understand. Christians should listen to and understand the entire Bible.
Today, many Christians believe only a part of the Bible. They choose the parts to believe and the parts not to believe. Pastor Vitale cautions against this, affirming that Christians either hear and believe the whole Word or none of it. This is a precursor to believing in God as the Scripture reads, “He that heareth my Word, and believeth on Him that sent me… is passed from death unto life.”
Christians must hear and believe the Word to believe in God. Those who say they believe in God but have not heard and believed His Word likely believe in a figment of their carnal minds.
