THE IMPORTANCE OF OBEYING GOD'S COMMANDMENTS

 Article #109 (10/25/2022)

Founded in 1988 by pastor and teacher Sheila Vitale, Living Epistles Ministries provides free Christian content, including written content and podcasts. Among these resources, Living Epistles Ministries provides religious teachings about salvation and obedience to God.

Obeying God is a topic that the Bible discusses extensively, from the book of Genesis to Revelation. Through the Bible, we understand how significant the idea of obedience is to God. The Bible helps us understand that followers of God should obey him so that they can have health and long life.

The Bible teaches that God rewards obedience with blessings. The book of Luke explains that more than listening to the word of God is putting it into practice. Further, James 1: 25 says that looking carefully into the perfect law sets you free, but abiding by what it says and remembering it regularly, brings you abundant blessings from God.

Obedience to God also reveals how much one values and believes in Him as a supreme being. The writings of John 1 and 2 make it quite apparent how we show love and reverence to God by obeying him. Additionally, obedience to God demonstrates our faith in Him. Those who obey God’s word and commandments put their full trust in Him to direct their lives.
