Vitale, is a Bible teacher and author whose short clips include one that explores the proposition that “The Church that exists today Is only a model, since the Scripture promises a Church without sot or wrinkle.”
As Pastor Vitale views it, Christ Jesus rules over nature from a position that is above nature. As a result, the contemporary church is only a prototype, not a true church that accurately represents the scriptural word of Jesus Christ. In engineering or product development, a prototype is a test model. It allows flaws to be identified so that improvements can be made in the future.
It is important for worshippers to realize that Christ Jesus, himself, is the perfection of the Church, so before he is fully possessing his people, while the people are still living out of their lower ego, their humanity, the Church will experience failures. But there will always be a remnant that is faithful to God until Jesus rescues them and rebuilds the Church. In that vein, we should prepare ourselves to embrace the next iteration of the Church, whether it be another model or the final, perfected one.
