Written by Sheila R. Vitale, Mind of the Spirit tackles the differences between the carnal mind and the spiritual mind. The book delves into a diverse range of spiritual topics in order to elucidate this dichotomy and reveal the path to choosing enlightenment according to the example of Jesus Christ.

As part of its illumination of the carnal and spiritual, the book speaks about sexuality, covering areas ranging from physical marriage to spiritual sexual roles and spiritual sexuality.

Mind of the Spirit also examines sinfulness in attitude and thought, especially pride. It introduces love and pursuit of a life of perfection as an antidote to sin, with a look at tribulation, Christ's crucifixion, and sacrifice. Ultimately, it teaches that Christ must reign in the spiritual mind.
