Amplification And Alternate Texts At Living Epistles Ministries

AMPLIFICATION AND ALTERNATE TEXTS
AT LIVING EPISTLES MINISTRIES

#10 [09/12/2018]

Founded in 1988, Living Epistles Ministries (LEM) is a teaching ministry that offers Christian literature to its congregation over the Internet and through independently established lending libraries around the world. Led by Pastor Sheila Vitale, Living Epistles Ministries features three alternate translation versions of traditional religious texts authored by the pastor on its website.

These alternate translation texts include The Alternate Translation of the Old Testament, The Alternate Translation of the New Testament, and The Alternate Translation of the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ to St. John. Available for purchase in paperback on Amazon.com, these alternative interpretations of religious texts are not meant to replace the original translations, but instead are meant to supplement traditional scripture for deeper understanding.

LEM’s alternative texts elaborate on the original translations of Hebrew and Greek Scripture through the process of amplification. In these books, an amplified word is one that has been added for interpretational clarity, rather than as a direct translation of Hebrew or Greek words. Amplification allows for ideas that were merely suggested in traditional texts to be fully explained in the alternate versions, giving readers a richer understanding of the entire religious Scripture.
