A teaching ministry based in Port Jefferson Station, New York, Living Epistles Ministry uses lending libraries established across the country and internationally to deliver teachings on a wide range of biblical subjects. Living Epistles Ministry also allocates over 15 percent of its income to ministries and nonprofit organizations that provide civil services and help those in need, such as Feed the Children.
Feed the Children focuses on ending childhood hunger across the globe and invites supports to make regular contributions toward a child’s welfare through its Sponsor A Child program. Participants in the program can choose a child to sponsor and make monthly donations of $34, which provides food and other life essentials to help improve the child’s quality of life. Donations combat conditions caused by hunger, disease, and poverty and give children access to clean water, nutritious food, essential vitamins, and education and school supplies.
After signing up for the program, sponsors will receive important information about their sponsored children and may communicate with them through letters. Feed the Children also delivers regular updates on each child’s conditions and will pass along any notes or drawings the child sends to his or her sponsor. New sponsors can look for a child to sponsor by browsing the organization’s database or by entering search parameters for gender, age, birthday, and country.
