Two Conceptions - A Holy Soul In A Physical Child

The soul of Messiah seized Mary’s womb when Gabriel announced the event, thou shalt conceive in your womb, (Lk 1:31).

Lk 1:31

31  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.   KJV

After that, Mary brought forth a physical son that was fathered by Joseph, her husband.

The Greek word translated, conceived, Strong’s 4815, is used to describe only two human conceptions in the New Testament, that of John and Jesus. James also uses that word to describe a spiritual conception.

In the Bible the children assume the Father’s lineage, so the Hebrew and Greek words translated, begat, in both the Old and New Testaments, are used to describe all other references to conception.

The deviation from this rule in the case of Jesus and John, clearly identifies the non-human identity of the father in those two instances.  The solution to the mystery of Jesus’ birth, however, lies in the second verb in the sentence,… and [you shall] bring forth a son.

Joseph is the father of the physical child, but God is the father of, the holy thing (soul) which shall be born of you [who] shall be called the Son of God (Lk 1:35)

Lk 1:35

35  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.   KJV

The wise men did not worship a two year old child (Matt 2:11) They were full well aware that they were worshiping the deity that was braided together with the soul of the child.

Matt 2:11

11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.   KJV

Jesus is a descendant of Judah, the progenitor of Messiah (Gen 49:10), through his father, Joseph (Matt 1:16).

Gen 49:10

10  The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.   KJV

Matt 1:16

16  And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.   KJV
