Since God gave us that definition of Romans 14:7, and the kingdom of God is righteousness and is not meat or drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. And ever since we found out the true meaning of it, that the joy is not in the world, nor is the joy or worldly things, nor is it something that you can will upon yourself in the midst of trials, that you can say, well, stiff upper lip and be happy when your heart is breaking, that is not what it is. It is a joy that comes when the Christ in you arises in the glory of God despite everything that is hurting you in your physical body or in the emotions of your soul. Christ in you arises and is filled with joy because of the things that the Lord Jesus Christ is doing in and to and for humanity and for us at that moment.
It is two -- the joy in the spirit, is an -- if you want to call it -- it is not really an emotion, but just for purposes of this explanation, I will say it is -- well, let me put it this way. It is a totally different mind, and your carnal mind may be sad and depressed because of pain in your body. It is really hard to be happy when you have pain in your body, I mean, truly happy, not put on happy, that you put on smile and crack jokes. I mean truly happy. That is really hard when there is pain in your body, and it is truly hard when there is depression and pain in your soul. A lot of people put on an act, but I am talking about being truly happy.
So what we are being told in Romans 14:7 is that it is possible to be joyous in the mind of Christ when your carnal mind is sadly in pain or depressed, because it has legitimate reason to be so. Pain, torment, distress, floods, torments, earthquakes, if you are rejoicing over that, they will lock you up and call you schizophrenic or psychotic. You are out of touch with reality. An earthquake just destroyed your home, and you are rejoicing. That is not normal behavior for a human being.
But when you have the mind of Christ and Christ knows, not because your carnal mind has been told, well, do not worry, everything is OK in Christ, but when your Christ mind has knowledge that Jesus is present, it is a joy that bubbles up from underneath your carnal mind. Can you hear the difference, what I am saying? It is not -- you are not joyous because of something somebody told you, but a true -- or because of a hope of restoration, but a true joy that is present because there is joy in Christ. And as Christ matures in you, this joy can reach a point where it can be so evident that it will overshadow to the point of blocking out the distress that comes or is coming or is present in your carnal mind. And we are back to the same issue again. Which mind are you going to be living out of?
And, brethren, the bottom line is, when we get to the point where we have the ability to truly live out of Christ no matter what is happening in our body or in our soul, I do not even think we are going to feel it. I am convinced, at this point, Jesus was not tormented on the cross. I am convinced of it, cannot prove it to you, and you can say anything you want about me. But I have been praying about this and asking the Lord about it for several years now, and at this point, I am convinced that when we are living out of the Christ mind, whatever pain is inflicted upon our body or our soul is barely felt, if felt at all, but merely discerned when our existence is truly out of Christ, if you can hear it.
And what that says to me, that encourages me to work even harder to enter in at the strait gate, to get into the kingdom of God. And how do you get into the kingdom of God? You have got to live out of the kingdom of God. And how do you live out of the kingdom of God? You must do the works of God. And if you remember our Alternate Translation of Romans 14:7, that is what it said, that the kingdom of God is not meat and drink. It is not human things, OK, but it is the ri- -- it is righteousness, and our righteousness is in Christ, and it is peace when the righteousness of Christ is present, He puts down our criminal mind, the carnal mind, and we have peace.
And then, if you recall the Alternate Translation, the Holy Ghost belongs to the next verse, and it is saying the Lord is pleased. Both God and man are pleased when we do these good works. I do not remember exactly where the Holy Ghost fits in. Oh, yeah, we do these holy works of the Spirit of God. The verse is not speaking about the Holy Ghost but the Spirit of Christ, which is in the Christ mind.
And then it says both God and man are pleased when we do these works of the Spirit of God, which are holy. What works? Works that raise up Christ in us and then the putting down of the carnal mind with that Christ, works that lead to the formation of the kingdom of God in you, and then the use of that kingdom to destroy your carnal mind. These holy works, which are a result of God's Spirit, not the Holy Ghost, which is the seed, but of the Spirit of Christ, which is the full-grown man. These works are pleasing to both God and man, that the kingdom of God should be formed in you and that He should destroy your carnal mind, that you might truly have the joy which is in Christ. Hallelujah. Would you put that on pause for a minute, please?
So I am elated this morning, and what elates me is delving into these Scriptures and getting the notes on the kind of message --
[INAUDIBLE] exhortation.
Yeah.
[INAUDIBLE] message.
No, we are still on exhortation, yeah. And what brings me into Christ and gives me this joy is going deep into the spirit and bringing forth this deep understanding of the Scripture. Apparently, I am so deep into the kingdom, in order to bring this forth, that joy is just bubbling up out from me. All of the cares of this world are far away from me, and I am just absolutely in glory. And if you cannot study like this, you can listen to the messages. The whole -- you have got to get into Christ. You have just --
[CROSSTALK]
Can you?
[CROSSTALK]
Yeah.
-- joy.
Yeah. There is just joy in my heart this morning, and it is the joy that is in Christ. Praise God. So I have a very exciting message for you this morning, and I just pray that God helps me to bring it forth, and I pray that He helps me to order my work schedule, that I do not have to rush like this. Lord, please just help me to get some -- get organized here. I know He will. OK [INAUDIBLE]
Part 3. Referring back to Part 2, in verse 5, we translated the word touched -- in verse 5, where we translated the world touched, I told you that this Hebrew word translated touched was Strong's 5066, and I got that number from my interlinear text. When I was studying for today's message, however, I found out that it was a wrong number, which happens very frequently. I hope, at some time in the future, the publisher of our interlinear text revises his edition because there are many, many errors. It was not proofread properly. I guess they had a deadline to go to press or whatever happened. There are many numbers that are off.
What usually happens, however, is that when I look up the number that is printed and I see that it does not fit into the context of my verse, I check it out. But in the case of verse 5, the f- -- the Strong's 5066 was close enough in meaning to the correct number, which, by the way, is 5060. The two words were close enough that I did not surmise that anything was wrong. There is a subtle difference. Actually, the definition Strong's 5066 could easily be used in this verse, except that Strong's 5060 is much stronger. And I do not know about you, but I want the full strength of what the Scripture is saying.
I also find these Scriptures very powerful. I do not know how they affect you, but when the deep doctrine, when the hidden manner comes forth from these Scriptures and I write them up -- and I write it up, I feel that something is just happening to my heart. It affects my heart. It is so real, and it is so powerful that it is almost like I am being shaken. I can fully understand how many people cannot hear this doctrine. They cannot bear it because of the effect that it has on me, and I am so much more mature than them, than the average person who has never heard this before. And if it is shaking me, I can understand how someone who has never heard this before really cannot bear it. It is like fire burning them.
So I told you all that to tell you this, that as we review the Alternate Translation of verse 5, which we shall do shortly, I have changed the definition and the Alternate Translation of the world translated touch, and this is what I changed it from and to. OK, we translated it to -- in our past message, we translated this word touched as to reach and join oneself to something. So I believe we said the Lord Jesus Christ reached Elijah and joined to his spirit. Strong's 5060, the correct number, however, can be translated to reach into, but there is no indication that it can be translated to join oneself.
Gee, I hope I did not get that backwards. I may -- well, I do not know what I said to you two minutes ago, but this is what I have in my notes. I guess I was just rambling on. Strong's 5060, the correct number, can be translated to reach into, and that is how we translated the word touched, but we went a little further. We said that the word touched means to reach into and join oneself to. But the correct number, 5060, can be translated to reach into, but there is no indication that it can be translated to join oneself.
On the contrary, one of the translations of Strong's 5060 is to violate or to endure. It can also be translated to touch a woman. This same word, Strong's 5060, translated touched appears in Daniel 8 where the Scripture uses it to describe both the goat's approach to as well as his penetration of righteous Adam at the time of the fall. So this word touched can be translated as a violent word, to violently touch someone, to wound them, to smite them, to hurt them, to penetrate them.
The word is also used in Daniel 8:17, and it is used of the angel touching Daniel. The Scripture says, "And the angel touched Daniel and set him upon his feet." This concept of a spiritual being touching a man to wound him and set him on his feet is found also in Revelation 21.
You may recall the scriptural principle, that in order for the Lord to speak to a man, that man's carnal mind must first be wounded and brought into submission to the angel or brought under the feet or under the authority of the angel. Then the angel joins himself to the man's mind, or more specifically to the man's spirit, which is in the man's mind, and the mind of man is the carnal mind. So the angle wounds the carnal mind, weakening him, and then the angel of the Lord penetrates the carnal mind and joins with the human spirit which is buried deep within the inner recesses of the mind of man.
And, thus, we have mind-to-mind contact, mind-to-mind, or more accurately spirit-to-spirit contact. The angel, which is a spirit, contacts the spirit of man. However, the spirit of man is within the carnal mind. The spirit of man is within the mind, and the angel forms a temporary manifestation of the mind of Christ in order to communicate with the man. So we can say that communication between an angel or between God's messenger and a man is spirit-to-spirit, the Spirit of God to the spirit of man, or we can say that it is spirit-to-mind, in that it is the spirit of man communicating with the mind of Christ. Or we can also say, and it would be accurate, that the mind of Christ is communicating -- well, no, I am going to take that back. We cannot say that.
So when you hear about mind-to-mind communication, we are talking about two -- either two carnal minds communicating or two manifestations of the mind of Christ communicating, OK. But when the Spirit of God desires to communicate with the mind of a man, He must wound that carnal mind and penetrate him or penetrate her, and the messenger of the Lord speaks not to the whole carnal mind but directly to the spirit that is in that carnal mind, so it is spirit-to-mind, or spirit to the spirit which is in that mind. Can you hear that, or did I confuse you? OK. It is so subtle. The teachings and the truth are so subtle. It is hairline differences. You have to understand these differences, or you miss the whole point.
We have, therefore, accordingly changed our Alternate Translation of the word touched in verse 5, which we translated joined to or joined to Elijah, Elijah's -- whatever the verse said. It was joined to Elijah's mind, I guess, or Elijah's spirit. And we have changed that translation to the angel wounded Elijah. He did not join with him. He wounded him, and then he married him. Now, remember, this word can be translated to touch a woman. So the angel wounded Elijah's mind, and then he touched him as a man touches a woman, and he joined with his sprit.
So, I guess, what I am saying, as I read my own notes this morning, that the translation that we have in part 2 of verse 5 is not inaccurate. When we say, "and the angel reached into and joined himself with Elijah," that is not inaccurate, but it is weak. It does not indicate the force and the trauma that was exerted and the power the was necessary and the authority that was necessary on the part of the angel to wound Elijah's mind so that he could marry or join with Elijah's spirit. It was not just a Sunday picnic, that the angel came and joined with Elijah's spirit. There was a warfare which preceded this joining.
And it is essential that we and that the whole church and everyone going on seriously with Christ knows that there will be no union, or there shall be no communion between the mind of man and the Spirit of God without a warfare or without a hostile act on the part of the Lord Jesus Christ. The carnal mind will never tolerate communication between the Lord or the angel of the Lord or any messenger of God. The carnal mind will never tolerate a communication between an emissary of God and the human spirit, which the carnal mind is holding captive through her marriage, through her illegal marriage to Satan. The carnal mind will never let that word in.
And we know that Daniel was told by the angel Michael. Daniel, your prayer was heard. The minute that you prayed it, your prayer was heard. How many days did the [?angel take?]? But it took us 21 days to wound that carnal mind to the point that I could connect with you in your spirit. Now Daniel was a prophet of God. If it took the angel, Michael, 21 days to communicate or commune with the prophet of God, do you have any problem believing that there are some human beings for whom the angel never reaches? There are some human beings for whom it takes the angel a couple of years to reach with a particular piece of information.
There is no way that you can expect to hear from God accurately and consistently without an active, aggressive, hostile warfare on the part of Christ in you, if He is in you. Your carnal mind must be the recipient of a hostile act. Your carnal mind must be wounded and knocked down before you can hear the voice of the Lord because while the carnal mind is standing tall and in full strength, you shall never hear.
If you have heard from the Lord at any time in your life, I declare unto you that, no matter how briefly, your carnal mind was indeed wounded, for that second, for that minute, for that moment, for the length of that communication, that your carnal mind was utterly defeated by the Lord Jesus Christ for you to receive information from the Lord Jesus Christ.
So we see the teaching in the church today, that you shall ascend automatically, that you should sit, quietly, in silent mediation and every other blaspheme -- blasphemy that is circulating in the church today, is not scriptural. It is not scriptural. You are communing with your carnal mind. If there is no warfare, you have not reached the Lord Jesus Christ.
And let me put this on the message. The Lord is telling me to put this on the message. There is a piercing through where so much of your human spirit is abiding on a continuous basis in Christ that a person in this condition will hear regularly and without much effort from the Lord. I am in that condition. His thoughts just flow into my mind frequently, not all of the time, but a lo- -- I hear a lot of what He says.
Now, listen carefully, when you reach this point, that so much of your human spirit is abiding in Christ that an aggressive, hostile wounding of your carnal mind is not necessary at every moment to hear from the Lord, you had better believe that the warfare is raging outside of you. You see, when you have taken the victory in your mind and Christ is speaking to you pretty much at will, there will be chaos in areas of your human life. Do you hear what I am saying?
If Christ cannot block -- I am sorry. If the carnal mind cannot block out the word in your mind, then he is causing chaos in your circumstances to try to get you to stop listening or to try to destroy your faith so that you do not believe that you have heard from the Lord. Or he is just simply punishing you for having this relationship with Christ. But I tell you, from personal experience, that if you are communing with the Lord on a regular basis, if you are communing with Him consistently, if you have true intimacy with the Lord in any manner, shape or form, there is continuous, ongoing harassment and chaos in your life. The Lord gives you the victory. You always come out on top, but there is continuous turmoil in your life.
And the peace that you have is the peace that you have with Christ. It is in your spirit. The peace is in your spirit until such time as your spirit, the Spirit of Christ through Christ Jesus, brings your carnal mind into such subjection that your carnal mind loses his strength to create chaos in your circumstances. You see, some people cannot hear from the Lord Jesus Christ. Some people have such heavy curses on them that they cannot hear from the Lord Jesus Christ, and they also have chaos in their circumstances. They have both. They are under heavy curses. Then you really need the Lord in your life.
But there are people whose lives are in order. They are calm. They are peaceful, except for a few little [?long?] skirmishes. But when the day comes that they start communing with the Lord Jesus Christ, their whole life just turns upside down. There is punishment and retaliation for having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, vicious punishment and retaliation, and we must learn how to get hold of Christ, how to wage the warfare and how to take the victory because we are not infants. We are not infantile. We are sons of God.
From the moment Christ begins to be formed in you, you are a son of God. You may be an immature son of God, but you are an im- -- you are a son of God, and you have to be trained up and learn how to fight the enemy because he is your strong enemy, and his goal is to steal your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom all blessings flow and in whom is life and the only life that truly exists in the universe.
When I first came to the Lord, I heard it preached that the devourer is seeking to steal -- to kill, steal and destroy your soul, but I declare to you I do not believe that that is true. Your soul is already killed and destroyed. We are dead. The devourer is seeking to kill, steal and destroy your relationship with the only one in whom is the power to be delivered out from under the power of the devourer. Did you hear that? Your soul is already dead. It is not true that Satan is trying to steal, kill and destroy your soul. That has already happened to you. He already did it at the time of the fall. Satan is trying to steal your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He is trying to kill Christ Jesus in you, and he is trying to destroy every possibility that you might have in Christ for deliverance out of this realm of Hell and to be resurrected out from among the dead ones.
I am going to read you a recap of 1 Kings 19:3 and 5, from the last message, "Elijah the Man, Part 2." We have interspersed verses 3 and 4.
Let me comment on that before I go on. Those of you who have been studying with us for a while may remember me explaining to you that, for whatever reason, when we work up an Alternate Translation of these verses with deep understanding, we frequently find that the sequence of events is out of order. What is a sequence of events? When you wake up in the morning, you open your eyes. You rise out of bed. You make your bed. You wash up. You eat breakfast, and you go to work. It would not make any sense for me to say to you I woke up this morning. I went to work. Then I made my bed after I left the house, and I brushed my teeth and had breakfast after I got to work. The sequence of events is out of order.
So we find, when we work up these Alternate Translations, that frequently the sequence of events is out of order. I do not know whether the Hebrew Scriptures were changed because carnal translators could not make sense out of the order that they were in, or whether the events, being out of sequence, are a part of the hidden parabolic meaning of the Scriptures. I do not know, but I kno- -- I do know that there is such a thing as translator's license. And when you take any language and translate it into another language, you are supposed to be making sense out of it.
So as we go into the original Hebrew and chose, in some instances, different translations for the same Hebrew word that appears in the Scripture, we find that it is necessary to change the sequence of the events as we find out the hidden meaning. And I remind you Jesus told parables to the common people, but He only gave the understanding of the parables to the disciples. So if you are nervous about me changing the Scriptures around, I just remind you we are using the same Hebrew words but one of many, many translations for each Hebrew word. And I also remind you that the true hidden meaning of what Jesus said to the masses was only for a few.
So if you cannot understand what I am saying and you would like to understand, ask the Lord for an ability to understand His parables because the Lord Jesus Christ was speaking in parables before He ever incarnated as the man the Lord Je- -- as the man Jesus of Nazareth. The Lord Jesus Christ was speaking in parables when He translated the Old Te- -- when He dictated the Old Testament through Moses or through whoever recorded 1 Kings.
So if you cannot understand what I am saying and if you cannot understand that everything in this Bible is a parable -- even the history has deep spiritual significance underneath it because all of the events were pretty much orchestrated, and God has put this whole Bible together as a message to us, of our spiritual condition, what happened to us, how we got this way, what His promise f- -- of the future is for us. This whole Bible, even the history, has hidden underneath it a spiritual message of hope for mankind. Therefore, if you cannot understand what I am saying, ask for that ability, and if you can understand it, consider yourself blessed because this is good meat.
And, therefore -- and I said all that to say this. And, therefore, I have interspersed verses 3 and 4. What that means is I put verses 3 and 4 together, and I have rearranged the order of the translated verses so that it makes sense to us in English and so that it makes sense in accordance with the revelation that the Lord is bringing forth in this hour.
Recap, 1 Kings 19:3-5, verses 3 and 4 interspersed, "And at the time that Elijah yielded to Satan's thoughts, he rebelled against Christ and deserted Him, and Elijah's human spirit was joined to Satan, and Satan strengthened Elijah's carnal mind, Satan's high priest, who was held captive by Christ. And Elijah married and had intercourse with his carnal mind, and Elijah's carnal mind rose up hostilely and sacrificed Christ unto Satan. "
"And Elijah stopped worshipping Christ, and Elijah vanished underneath" -- I am sorry, "and Christ vanished underneath Elijah's carnal mind, and Elijah became joined to his dead soul. And Elijah willed within himself and requested that his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, should crucify his enemy, the carnal mind, and marry his hostile soul quickly. And he acknowledged that his carnal mind was not Christ, the Son of his true Father, Jehovah."
Verse 5, "And, behold, Jehovah's high priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to Elijah, the one who was joined to his soul, and wounded his carnal mind and joined with his spirit, and the mind of Christ arose in Elijah. And Christ Jesus tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's carnal mind became spiritually weak, and she dried up, and she died."
Glory to God. I would just like to comment on the phrase, "And Elijah was the one who was joined to his soul." That is an interesting phrase. What does that mean? It means that Elijah, as far as God is concerned, is spirit. And to say that Elijah was joined to his soul is another way of saying that which is born of the flesh is flesh. It is another way of saying that Elijah's human spirit got messed up with his soul, fornicated with his soul, and became trapped in a spiritually union that is likened to human marriage. And, therefore, that which was born of the flesh was the flesh mind, the carnal mind.
And at this point, Elijah needs his mind renewed. He needs to have the spirit which he is disjoined from his soul or disjoined from or sucked out of his carnal mind and joined to the Lord Jesus Christ, that the spirit which is Elijah should be joined with the mind of Christ, that the spirit of the man Elijah should be joined to spirit, to the Spirit of God, and not to the soul. Did I make that clear?
That is what happened at the fall when righteous Adam fell. He was [?in?] -- he and his wife Eve, the Scripture says Eve ate and her husband with her. They partook of or entered into an illegal, illicit, spiritual adulterous union with the soul in which they were living, and they became joined to their soul, and the mind of Christ was born. This is the condition of man in this hour. We are joined to our soul, and everything that we are reading about in 1 Kings 19 is the promise of what is to happened to God's people, and in some of us, the process has already started.
I am so excited with this message because as Elijah cries out and the Lord Jesus Christ comes to save him, we see him saved. And as members of mankind cry out to the Lord Jesus Christ in this hour, He is coming to save us in according with the pattern that we are reading about in Elijah -- in 1 Kings 19. And it is just so exciting to me because I know that God is in the process of doing this for me now, that my spirit, my human spirit, is joined to my soul, and I am crying out, and I am announcing into the heavenlies. I am confessing that the mind it me is not Christ, that the mind in me is not the mind of my true Father, Jehovah.
But we have a whole church full of people saying I am in the image of God. The mind that is in me, it is the mind of God. Therefore, I do not need to be separated from my soul. Now listen to this. They will tell you that they need a savior. They will tell you that they need a savior, but they will not tell you that they need to be separated from their soul because their soul is in the image of Christ.
So, therefore, when the Pharisees say to you Jesus Christ is my savior, you must ask him what the Lord Jesus Christ is saving them from because we need to be saved from our own soul who has taken us captive and joined us to himself, and we are trapped in this adulterous union. And if you think that the Lord Jesus Christ is saving you from going to Hell after the death of your body, you have received not only a lie but a total fantasy, and you are missing the whole point of this glorious salvation that has been offered unto men by the Lord Jesus Christ.
Continuing with 1 Kings 19:6, "And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again."
We have restated verse 6, reversing the second and third phrases and moving the words, at his head, from the third phrase to the first phrase. Now why would I do something like that? Because when I f- -- when the Lord showed me the spiritual significance of this verse, I realized that to translate it word-for-word in the order that it appears would make no sense whatsoever with regard to the very exciting message that is coming forth in this verse. And I decided that -- to teach it to you in a manner that hopefully you will understand because it is a very complicated verse, that the easiest way to do it was to restate the verse in the King James language and then go word-by-word and translate it.
So this is what the restated King James sounds like. This is verse 6 of 1 Kings 19. "And he looked, and, behold, at his head there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid down again." Well, all I did over there was move the phrase at his head, OK.
Now I am going to do what I said I was going to do. I am going to reverse the second and third phrases, and this is what the restated verse 6 sounds like. "And he looked, and, behold, at his head a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again."
Now please notice that this is not bad English, that if we wanted to restate verse 6 like that and replace it in the King James translation, it still says the same thing that the King James translators are saying. So I have no problem believing that when the Scriptures were copied from the Hebrew, that the Hebrew translators moved the words around in such a way as to state them in what the King James translators or other translators might have thought was just better English.
So this is the restated verse 6. We are going to take it a word at a time, and you will see, Lord willing, the deep spiritual meaning behind this phrase. Starting with the first quarter of the restate verse 6, "And he looked, and, behold, at his head there was a cake baken on the coals." The word -- the Hebrew word translated looked merely means looked. The Hebrew word translated behold means and there it was. He looked, and then he saw. We can look and not see. I do not know about you, but I look all the time, and I do not see. I have people telling me all the time they passed me on the road, and they -- I was in my car, and they were in their car, and I was looking right at them, and I did not see them. I am told this all the time.
So verse 6 is saying Elijah looked, and he not only looked, but he saw, and this is what he saw. He saw, "At his head a cake baken on the coals." The phrase, at his head, Strong's 4763, we are going to translate this phrase Elijah's spiritual head. Now let me remind you that the deeper the hidden message is, the fewer words are used to describe it. You have to have the revelation in your heart, or you will never get the hidden message because there are always words missing in prophecy. You may recall me teaching you that.
And the deeper the hidden message, the fewer words are used to express it. You will get a couple of verbs and a couple of nouns, and the revelation must come from Christ, or you will never hear it. You may look, but you will never see it if Christ in your heart is not looking through you. You may look, but you will never see it if the eyes of your understanding have not been opened.
"At his head," I am going to suggest to you that the spiritual head -- now let us get spiritual. Let us get out of this carnality. The spiritual head of Elijah was the Lord Jesus Christ, and I think we had that in either verse 3 or 4 or verse 5. Somewhere in the last message, we found out that Elijah had a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and that concept is included in our Alternate Translation of 1 Kings 19:3-5.
So we see that the Lord Jesus Christ is Elijah's head. "And he looked, and, behold, at his head." He looked, and, behold, the Lord Jesus Christ and a cake baken on the coals. Well, let us find out what the spiritual significance is of a cake baken on the coals. The word baken is not in the Hebrew. The Scripture just speaks about a cake that was on hot coals. Now the carnal mind translating this Scripture says, well, if you have a cake and it is on hot coals, it must be baken. It must be baked.
But we are looking for a spiritual interpretation, and we found out that the head is the Lord Jesus Christ, and we are going to find out that the cake is speaking about Elijah's carnal mind, and I will tell you how I got that. And we will find out that the word hot coals, translated hot coals, is indicating that the Lord Jesus Christ had set on fire Elijah's carnal mind.
[?Hallelujah?]
Hallelujah.
[?That was great?].
OK. At the end of verse 5, we found out that Elijah was crying out -- I am trying to see if I can find the exact word here. And he requested -- yes, it is somewhere in verse 3 or 4. "And Elijah requested that his elder brother should crucify his enemy." So Elijah was crying out saying, boy, I have been overcome. My carnal mind absolutely got me, knocked me down, stole my Christ life, captured me, married me, and I am not joined to my own soul. But I can get the thought out. I want my elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come and save me and crucify this carnal mind and deliver me from the clutches of the enemy. "And, behold, and there He was, the Lord Jesus Christ, his head." Glory to God, ever-present.
"And there He was, the Lord Jesus Christ, and there was a cake that was on fire." Glory to God. Let me show you how I got that. [?The word?] cake is Strong's 5692. It is spoken of bread which is baked on hot coals, especially when in haste. You might be familiar with the Hebrew word matzos. It is speaking about unleavened bread. Paul clearly refers -- excuse me. Paul clearly refers to believers as a lump of bread. "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us," 1 Corinthians 5:7.
I suggest to you that the use of the word cake in the context of 1 Kings 19:6 is to describe Elijah's carnal mind which had been the bread of life. [?Carnals mind?], it had been -- Elijah's mind, it had been the bread of life. It had been Christ, but now it had been reformed into a new lump, and it was now not a lump of bread but a lump of clay. Elijah's mind had gone from being a lump of the bread of life to a lump of clay which was dead.
Now, brethren, before God breathed the breath of life into the clay, it was a lump of clay. God breathed the breath of life into it, and it became bread. Can you hear that? The carnal mind is clay, and the mind of Christ is bread. There is no life in the carnal mind, but in the mind of Christ, there is not only life for oneself but life that one can give out, that others might need.
The Hebrew word translated cake is derived from Strong's 5746, which means to go in a circle, to bend or to curve. And you might remember our teachings that the gr- -- that the geometrical expression of the carnal world, of this world system, is a circle. A circle is made up of a continuous curve. So that is another witness to you that the word cake symbolically, as we look for the deep spiritual meaning here, mea- -- is speaking about Elijah's carnal mind.
And a second witness that I have for you is Exodus 3:2, which says, "And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed." And I suggest to you that that is a second witness to what we are speaking about in Elij- -- I keep saying Elijah, in 1 Kings 19:6, which is translated in a very hidden form, a cake baken on the fire. I suggest to you it was a lump of clay. It had been a cake. It had been bread. It was now clay, and it was not on hot coals. It was on fire because Elijah had looked up, and there He was, at his head, the glorious Lord Jesus Christ, who is fire Himself. And Elijah's carnal mind was attacked by Him, and his carnal mind was burning. Hallelujah.
Elijah was a living manifestation of the bush that was burning the fire but not consumed. It was as purifying force. The fire of the Lord Jesus Christ attacking the carnal mind of a man is a purifying force, hallelujah, not unto destruction but unto life.
Coals, Strong's 7529, the interlinear translates this word hot stones, and we know that stones in the Scripture are types of the spirit. I told you it is Strong's 7529, and it is from a root 7565, which means a flame, lightening, which is a type of spiritual power. It can also be translated arrows or ravenous birds, and we know that the Lord has arrows, and the enemy has arrows.
This word is speaking about spiritual weapons, and the weapons of the s- -- and the weapons in the realm of the spirit are spirit. It can be translated a burning fever or a plague by which the whole body is inflamed. If a s- -- if an ungodly spirit has penetrated you, you are whole body can become inflamed. If that spirit is sin, your whole soul can be corrupted with sin. If that arrow that penetrates you is the life of God, your whole souls can be healed from every sin that has be- -- that has ever beset you.
So when we speak about hot coals or hot stones, the spiritual significance is spiritual -- not only spiritual power but spiritual weapons, the penetration of spirit in the form of arrows or attack. And I suggest to you -- I continue to suggest to you that when Elijah looked up and saw the Lord Jesus Christ, that He was not saying howdy-do. He was in full battle array, and He was already attacking his carnal mind with a vengeance, glory to God, and that his carnal mind was burning and very much on fire, but not consumed.
Why not consumed? Because, remember, that Elijah's human spirit was joined to the carnal mind, so if the fire of the Lord Jesus Christ consumed or destroyed that carnal mind, Elijah's spirit would be destroyed with it. Therefore, the carnal mind was on fire but not consumed because it was not the Lord Jesus Christ's intention to destroy Elijah but to deliver him. The judgments are not unto destruction but unto deliverance. When the Lord Jesus Christ sets your mind on fire, it is for the specific purpose of sucking out, of extricating, of saving, of ransoming your human spirit which has been joined to the soul, of getting her free, that she might be joined to the Spirit of Christ and live and not die.
Alternate Translation, the first quarter 1 Kings 19:6, "And he looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into the circle of the earth." Hallelujah.
Amplified translation, "And He looked to Elijah, and Elijah looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind, as soon as he called out for help."
Continuing with the second quarter of 1 Kings 19:6, "And a cruse of water." The word cruse is Strong's 6835. It means a cup, and you may recall that the spiritual significance of the word cup is what? The cup is the soul. The soul is the container for the spirit, so the cup typifies the soul, and a cup of water. The word translated water is 4325. Now Hebrew is a very rich language, brethren. This Hebrew word can be translated drinking water. It can be translated urine. It can be translated seminal fluid. It can -- it is pretty much translated or can be translated anything that is -- any function of the human body or any excretion of the human body that his fluid.
So reading right out of Gesenius's Hebrew Lexicon, we are told that this word, 4325, can be translated seminal fluid. I suggest to you that the significance of the Hebrew word translated water is that it is the seed of the Father. We know that the seed is the word and that Jesus is the word. I suggest to you then that the seed spoken about in Kings 19:6 is the Lord Jesus Christ in the form of the Holy Spirit. The water, the cup of water, it is the soul that contains the seed of the Father. It is the soul, Christ, that contains the seed of the Father or the Spirit of the Father. It is the mind of Christ with the Spirit of Christ abiding in it. A cruse of water, it was the mind of Christ which contained the spirit of Christ.
I know -- I just realized that I said to you that the significance of the word cup is soul, and therefore it is the soul that contains the spirit. But for the context of this teaching, we would have to say that the cup is the mind. The cup is the mind of Christ which contains the Spirit of Christ, which is the seed of the Father. Glory to God.
We know that the seed is the word and that Jesus is the word. Therefore, the seed spoke about in Kings 19:6 is the Lord Jesus Christ in the form of the Holy Spirit. Now let me clarify that. The Spirit of Christ is in the mind of Christ. Assuming I have the mind of Christ and it is the Spirit of Christ in me that is preaching this morning, when the seed goes out of me, if you are someone who does not yet have Christ formed in you, when the fiery seed or the arrows of the Spirit of Christ in me touches your heart, if you do not have Christ in you, it, to you, becomes the Holy Ghost. Can you hear that? When it is in me, it is in a degree of maturity that is lessened when it falls upon the heart of someone that does not have a relationship with Christ.
This is the same principle as me saying that the Son and the Father were one, and when the Son separated from the Father and was breathed into the creation, it became the female seed of the Father, that the breath -- that the Son, when He was breathed into the creation, was still of the spirit of the Father but became a weaker manifestation or a female manifestation of the Father when thing entered into the clay which was not of God. Are you OK? OK. So when the Spirit of Christ in me preaches and falls upon an unregenerate heart, it enters into that heart in a weakened form, which is the seed that has the potential to pr- -- to reproduce, in this unconverted heart, the same mind that the original seed came out of when it was in me. OK?
It is the same principle as -- you take a tomato. You have the whole fruit, and you take a tomato seed, and you give it to your daughter, and you say, here, plant it in your garden. That seed came out of the tomato, and when it was in the tomato, it was part of the tomato, but now it is just a seed. It is nothing that you could eat, but it has the potential to reproduce the whole tomato or, even more, a whole tomato plant in the garden of the person that you give it to.
The Scripture says a cruse of water, but I suggest to you that the correct translation is his soul with seed. Now that is just a very small phrase. This is a very difficult verse, but, basically, we are going to weave that together with the rest of the verse, and we are going to find out that what it is saying is that the Lord Jesus Christ shot the arrows of the Spirit of Christ that He came with, which is the seed of the Father, and they fell upon Elijah's soul, that Elijah's soul received the seed. I will show that to you as we go on.
Continuing with the third quarter of 1 Kings 19:6, "And Elijah did eat and drink." The Hebrew word translated eat is Strong's 398. It merely means eat. Remember, when one eats of the spiritual flesh of the Lord Jesus Christ and the mind of Christ is formed -- when that happens, when you eat of the flesh of Christ, the mind of Christ is formed in you. "And Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you," John 6:53.
So we are told here that Elijah ate and drank. Well, brethren, let us get spiritual. Really, what kind of natural food do you think the angel could have given to Elijah that could have resulted in him winding up, about 10 verses further down the line in this glorious ministry of the Father sending him forth to call Elijah -- and I think he eventually kills King Hazael. I do not recall, but he -- well, let us get it.
Ahab.
Let us put it on the message. Ahab?
Ahab.
I do not think so.
[INAUDIBLE]
Nope, not Ahab.
[INAUDIBLE]
Verse 15, "And the Lord said unto Elijah" -- this is after Elijah's full restoration. "And the Lord said unto him, Go, and return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when you come, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria." He did not kill [?Hangal?] -- Hazel. He appointed him king.
"And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Ball, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. And so Elijah departed and did this high spiritual office or executed this high spiritual office."
So what kind of natural food could Elijah possibly have eaten that would have raised him up from being completely joined to his carnal mind to a high spiritual place where he is going out and appointing kings and appointing the office of prophet to people? It had to be spiritual food, brethren, and I suggest to you that Elijah ate of the flesh of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah.
Listed under Strong's 8354, that is the word translated drink. He ate, and he -- well, the King James says eat and drink. The interlinear says he ate, and he drank. Drank, 8- -- Strong's 8354 is listed under that number in Strong's, but -- hmm, underneath -- I am sorry. I wrote down Strong's, but this is not Strong's. This is Gesenius's. Listed in Gesenius's under that number, 8354, is what Gesenius describes as an unused verb. It has the same exact spelling as number 8354, but it has a different translation, and the translation of this verb, which looks exactly like 8354, but for some reason, the author makes a distinction in his lexicon, is translated to fix the warp in the loom.
Wow.
Does anybody remember who the warp is?
[?Yeah?].
Who is the warp?
[INAUDIBLE]
Satan is the warp of the garment that God is weaving. God is weaving a garment to cover His invisible self so that His form will be revealed. You see, even though God is invisible, He has substance. We just cannot see it. When -- what I mean when I say He has substance is that if you throw something over Him, it will take form. It is as if there were a square here that you cannot see. But if I threw a blanket over it, the blanket would not fall flat on the floor. The blanket would reveal that there was a square there, but when you take the blanket away, you would not see anything because the square was invisible.
So God is weaving a garment, and this is what I am suggesting to you to you happens when Christ dissolves and our carnal mind takes over, spiritually speaking. This is what happens. I am going to draw you a picture, if I can get the cap off this marker. OK, God is weaving a garment, and Christ goes from heaven to earth. He is the woof. He is the vertical threads of the garment. And it is the plan of the Lord that Satan is the warp. He goes along the horizontal line of the earth. And, of course, we know that when we are weaving a garment, these threads are packed closely together, and we receive a solid garment.
I want to suggest to you that what Satan has done and is continuously doing and shall continue to do until his rebellion is completely put down is that he is rejecting his role along the horizontal plane of the earth. I should really do this with a second color. Let me get a second color here.
[INAUDIBLE]
Celie [SP]. So let me erase this and do it in two colors for you. We will make the Lord Jesus Christ the heavenly blue, from heaven to earth, the vertical lines, and we will make Satan green, the color of the earth, and we have a garment. But what Satan is doing, he is saying I do not want to be along the circle of the earth. He is saying I want to be the vertical line of the garment, and when he can do it, when he can crush the car- -- the mind of Christ, he literally lifts himself up from lying on the horizontal line of the earth or the warp of God's garment, and he sets himself up right in line with the woof, with the vertical line from heaven to earth, and we see that he is doing the same thing that the Lord Jesus Christ is doing. He is no longer lying in opposition to Him, and the garment falls apart because if you have a garment where all the threads are going in the same direction, you do not have a garment. You just have a bunch of threads.
And what happened was that God's garment fell apart. God's garment -- the name of God's garment is the mind of Christ, Christ Jesus, the mind of Christ. Satan found ground, legal ground, in Elijah, and that legal ground was Elijah's rebellion against Christ, and Satan got out. Now you have to realize that for Satan to be woven into God's garment, that every one of these blue liens, which is Christ coming down from heaven, is bringing Satan into a position that he does not desire to be in. But because the Lord Jesus Christ is interweaving Himself with Satan, Satan is locked in.
But somehow, spiritually speaking, with the legal ground of Elijah's rebellion, Satan got out. Well, let me put it this way. Because of the legal ground of Elijah's rebellion, the lines of the Lord Jesus Christ coming down from heaven were weakened. I do not have any more detail than that, and Satan got out from being interwoven into a position that he never wanted to be in but that he was forced into by the mind of Christ. And as soon as Satan gets out, the first thing the he does is exalts himself and start to act like a spirit because Satan is soul.
And it is the Lord Jesus Christ that is forcing him to remain in his soulish position, but as soon as he gets out, for a second, for a minute, for an hour, for a day, for a week, for a month, as soon as he gets out, what happens to him is that he starts to act like a spirit. And he starts to do, although imperfectly, what the Lord Jesus Christ does, and the garment of God falls apart.
So we see that Satan's garment -- that the garment that Satan weaves is a perverse garment. All of the threads are going in the same direction. There is no woof. There is only a warp. It is damaged. It is imperfect. It is incomplete, and, therefore, we die. I thought that was exciting.
[INAUDIBLE]
Amen, and it is all --
[INAUDIBLE]
Yeah. I would prefer it if you could hold it till the end, OK. Although, when I finish this verse, if I feel the Lord lets me stop, I will stop, but right now the spirit is still on me. And this also -- as we look at this demonstration on the board, we see a diagram of spiritual homosexuality. Brethren, God has ordained that there should be a male which goes from heaven to earth and a female which [?rides?] along the circle of the earth. That is God's plan on many different levels for the whole creation. You must do what your role is, and this plan goes from the greatest unto the least. It goes in your own body. It goes in your relationships. It goes in your church. It goes in your family. It goes in your marriage.
If you get out from under what your God-ordained role is, the plan of God is damaged. And if you get out long enough and hard enough and with enough power, the garment that God is weaving will fall apart. If it is a ministry, God might close it down. If it is a marriage, there might be a divorce. If it is a family and the family goes dysfunctional, the family will scatter, and the people will not be close.
Everybody must function in the God-ordained role, or the garment is damaged, and depending on the degree of the damage to the [?garden?] -- to the garment, there can only be from a minimal success to no success at all to ultimate disaster and dissolving of the whole whatever it is that God is doing.
Everybody, you must find out what your function is and function in it because if you are taking over someone else's function, everything is thrown out of kilter. There is something you are supposed to be doing that you are not doing. You are interfering with the person who is supposed to be doing what you are doing. A conflict rises up because it is not clear who is supposed to be doing it. Carnal emotions get loose, and we get mad at one another, and there is competition and all kinds of wickedness and ungodliness.
Brethren, labor silently, spiritually silently. Humble yourself. Determine what God has given you to do, and do it in a humble spirit, that the purposes of God might be made manifest, that His blessings might fall upon you and everything that you are a part of, on the place where you work, on the ministry that you are a part of, in every relationship that you have. Find out what God requires of you, and do it. Labor humbly for your bread, the Scripture says. This is an expansion of that word. Do what God assigns you to do, that things might follow decently in order, that everything might be done, that the purposes of God should be accomplished in your life and in the whole world. Glory to God.
So we see, and we have seen since the time of the fall, a continuous rending of God's garment because ever since righteous Adam fell and God's garment fell apart, God has been raising up that garment in the earth. He is always at least one place, probably many places, in the earth, at the same time, reweaving His garment, capturing Satan in one man's mind, in a mind here, in a mind there, to accomplish His purposes.
But I declare to you that with the exception of the Lord Jesus Christ, every time the Father has rewoven His garment since the fall, it has only been for a season, and Satan has gotten out and caused it to fall apart again because Satan refuses to be the warp of the garment. And because of his rebellion the result is that there is no garment.
And it just shows, or this just demonstrates the darkness and the ignorance on the mind of what we call the intelligence in the earth, the negative intelligence in the earth, because his rebellion is resulting in his own death and torment. But he is so willful and so strong, so strong-minded, that he does not even care. Why? Because he is not subject to the law of God, neither can he be. It is his nature to rebel against the law and the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ must weave Himself through the warp of God's garment whose name is Satan and restrain him and contain him and hold him by force because Satan shall never bend his knee to the authority of Christ until such time as his knees are broken.
And I declare to you that that time is coming. God is castrating Satan. He is breaking his legs. He is breaking his power, but so long as Satan has the strength to do it, he will never submit to the law of God because it is his nature to resist. Why? He is the resistance that we are supposed to be pushing against. That is his function in the creation, but we are supposed to be strong enough to weave ourselves -- we who are spirit, to weave ourselves together with him so that he performs his function. We are not only to supervise him but to militarily enforce Satan's God-ordained function upon him.
And God said unto Adam, keep the garden. Weed the garden. Keep it clean. Do not let Satan get out and grow his weeds in My garden because the whole garden is going to fall apart. And I remind you that the garden is symbolic of the soul realm, glory to God. The soul realm ruled by the mind of Christ is the Garden of Eden, and the soul realm ruled by the mind of Christ is the Land of Nod. It is not called a garden. It is called the Land of Nod, the earth where people sleep.
When Christ is in the earth, the earth is a garden producing everything that man could possibly need. But when the carnal mind is ruling in the gar- -- in the soul, it is not a garden. It is earth, and it is earth that sleeps. It is dead earth. Earth that sleeps is not producing anything. It is not producing life.
So I will take a question on that right now if you would like to ask it.
I think I am trying to ask, once it is straight like that and there is no form or appear- -- it means there is no garment meaning appearance, right? And when there is no appearance, how do you get it back to where it is crossing over like that? [INAUDIBLE]
Yeah. Well, that is the whole rest of the message. To put it simply, we need someone with spiritual authority. We need an older brother. We need a head, someone with power to come and reweave the garden -- the garment. We need power to force him back down into his proper position and to reweave him, and that is exactly what is happening to Elijah. It is a very exciting message. I was all jumping around this morning.
[INAUDIBLE]
I suggest to you that Elijah ate of the Lord Jesus Christ's flesh and drank of His Spirit. How? Elijah's spirit joined with the fire, spirit-to-spirit. The spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ or the Spirit of Christ joined with Elijah's human spirit, and Elijah's soul, the garment of his spirit, imbibed or took in or received the lightning arrows of the Lord, which is the seed of God's life. And the warp -- and when that happened, the warp of Elijah's garment or his soul was repaired.
And why would the warp need to be repaired? I suggest to you that the warp changed his position to that of the woof, causing the garment to need repair. And I guess I got ahead of myself. We just talked about that. Remember, the words fire and lightning arrows come from the Hebrew word translated hot coals above.
Alternate Translation, the third quarter of 1 Kings 19:6, "And Elijah's spirit ate of the Word of God, and his soul drank of the Father's seed, and the earthy part of Elijah's soul was repaired." Glory to God.
Celie, put that on pause for a minute, please.
And let me remind you what the two parts of Elijah's is. I say here, "And the earthy part of Elijah's soul was repaired." Do you remember what the two parts of the soul are? Soul and spirit, OK, the human spirit that is in the soul, in that soul of man, which is the female seed of God, which, when the seed of the Father joins -- when the male seed of the Father joins with the female seed, which is in the soul, in that joining we find the Word of God being formed. So the soul of man is spirit and soul.
So we see here that when Elijah's spirit ate of the Word of God and his soul drank of the Father's seed, just as the earth drinks in the rain -- is that not a Scripture that says, "And when the earth drinks in the rain"? When the earth of our soul drinks in the rain which is the seed of God, then the earthy part of Elijah's soul was repaired. And what happens when the earthy part of Elijah's soul is repaired? The human spirit got free and was now instead of being joined to the soul, was joined to the Spirit of Christ. And there is a separation between soul and spirit.
When I first came to the Lord, I used to say, Lord, why would you want to separate soul from spirit and joints from the marrow? I could not understand it. Brethren, the reason that the Word of God is sharp and swift as a two-edged sword, separating the soul from the spirit, the reason God wants the soul separated from the spirit is that it is a perversion for us to be joined to our soul.
We are spirit, and we are joined to our soul, and because we are joined to our soul, in most instances, fallen man, yes, and in most cases of people in the church with some few exceptions, even though you name the name of the Lord Jesus, you are still so joined to your soul that your entire experience of this existence is soul. So even though you really are spirit, you are living this existence as a soul. That is as if to say you were born with a male body but you are living this existence as a woman, in that you are engaged in the female role of a homosexual relationship.
We are spirit, brethren, but except for those who are dwelling in the kingdom of God with Christ, which are very few Christians, and if you are not a Christian, not at all, we are spirit who are living as soul. We are men who are living as women. We are men who have laid down our female role and lay down for continuous, ongoing, unceasing penetration by Satan and the carnal mind in an unnatural position in an unnatural relationship. That is what we are.
So if you have been listening to my messages and on some messages you hear me say you are spirit and on some messages you hear me say you are soul, do not think that I do not know what I am talking about. I know what I am talking about. You are the one that is in a perverse existence. You are spirit, but your life expresses soul. So if you are spirit and every aspect of your life expresses soul, even though you are spirit, for all intents and purposes, you are soul. Hallelujah.
Let us try this Alternate Translation for the third quarter of 1 Kings 19:6 again. I made some more changes. I made it clearer. "And the Lord Jesus Christ joined with Elijah's spirit and penetrated Elijah's soul, and the earthen part of Elijah's soul was repaired." God's garment in Elijah was repaired when the Lord Jesus Christ joined with Elijah's spirit and penetrated Elijah's soul.
Please, remember that Jesus is the word and that the seed is the Word of God. Luke 8:11 says that the seed is the Word of God, and I have a note here to myself to look up the Scripture that says Jesus is the word, but I never did it, so I do not have the reference for you.
Now please note that in the Alternate Translation that I just gave you, that the sequence is incorrect. Listen, "And the Lord Jesus Christ joined with Elijah's spirit and penetrated Elijah's soul." Now, brethren, before the Lord Jesus Christ could join with Elijah's spirit, He has to penetrate his soul. So we have what I was speaking about at the beginning of the message. We have an incorrect sequence, so we are not going to keep it. We are going to make it correct because these problems arise in the translation. The Lord Jesus Christ must penetrate our soul in order to reach our human spirit, which is buried deep underneath the earthen part of our soul.
Amplified translation in the correct sequence, third quarter of 1 Kings 19:6, "And the Father penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit, and Christ Jesus was formed and tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's soul was repaired." That is the answer to your question. Did you hear it? It is the answer to your question.
I will read it again. "And the Father penetrated Elijah's soul." In response to Elijah's call for help, the Lord Jesus Christ came, and the seed of the Father -- I have here the Father, but it is the seed of the Father. Let me put down, "And the seed of the Father penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit, and Christ Jesus was formed anew. And when He was formed anew, He tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's soul was repaired." OK. And if you have cried out to Jesus for help, it is -- the process has already begun.
[INAUDIBLE].
Yes, it is happening.
I mean, if you can fall down that far, that could happen?
Yes, it can happen. You cannot fall --
[INAUDIBLE]
It depends on where you were when you started. It depends on the resistance in your own soul, OK, but I do not think it is going to take all that long in your case, a few weeks.
A few weeks?
Well, you know, you are OK. You are functioning.
Yeah.
And, well, it could happen in a day.
[CROSSTALK]
Yeah, and I experienced it a couple of months ago. Remember?
I have to go through a [?long period?] obviously. [?The Lord is?] --
Well, a few weeks is not so long. So I have see-
[CROSSTALK] long time.
Well, I have seen --
[CROSSTALK]
OK.
[INAUDIBLE]
OK. We will talk after the message, OK. Glory to God. Concentrate on the fact, though, the He is repairing you. However long it takes, the process has already started. We said earlier that the warp of Elijah's soul was running parallel with the woof. It was running in the same direction, which resulted in a damaged soul.
Well, what does that mean to us personally? I suggest to you that it means that the carnal mind was expressing itself through Elijah's soul and that the soul was damaged, or we can say dead because it was the carnal mind expressing itself through the soul. Christ Jesus repaired Elijah's soul. Listen to this. Christ Jesus repaired Elijah's soul by beheading the carnal mind, knocking him down from the dominion or the ground that he had gained, and by taking his position as Lord and master, thus giving life to Elijah's soul.
The restoration, the repair is in Christ arising in you, stripping the carnal mind of any ground that he has gra- -- the he has gained, and restoring Himself. Who? Christ Jesus restoring Himself to the position of dominion that He was at, at the time of the setback. And if Elijah could have a setback and God restored him, there is not anybody that cannot have a setback that the Lord cannot restore, and He is faithful, and He will do it. OK. You just have to go through.
Continuing with the fourth quarter of 1 Kings 19:6, "And laid him down again." The Hebrew word translated turned is present in the interlinear, but it is not present in the King James. The interlinear says, "And Elijah turned and laid him down again." The Hebrew word translated turned in the interlinear is Strong's 7725, and it means to turn oneself or to be converted. Elijah turned. He was converted. He was in his carnal mind, making him a carnal man, and he became a spiritual man when the mind of Christ was restored in him, so Elijah was converted from carnal to spiritual as the mind in him changed.
"And laid him down again." The Hebrew word translated laid down again is Strong's 7901, and it is used of those who are sick or dying, and it also can be translated to make someone prostrate themselves. The word prostrate means -- it is a word that -- it means to humble yourself, but more specifically than that, in other societies in past ages, when a man would come before a king that had power of life or death over him, they would stretch themselves out, face down, spread eagle in front of the king and give homage to the king. That is what the word prostrate means, to utterly lay yourself down at his feet, acknowledging that life or death is in the hand of the king.
Alternate Translation, the fourth quarter of 1 Kings 19:6," And Elijah was converted, and his carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ, and she, his carnal mind, became sick and died." Hallelujah.
Alternate Translation, 1 Kings 19:6, the whole verse, "And he looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind. And he penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit, and Christ Jesus was formed and tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot. And Elijah's soul was repaired, and Elijah was converted. And his carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ, and she became sick, and she died." Hallelujah.
Amplified translation, 1 Kings 19:6, "And he looked" -- speaking about Elijah, "And he looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind. And the Father's seed penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit, and Christ Jesus was formed and tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's soul was made alive. And when Elijah was converted, his carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ, and she became sick, and she died." Hallelujah.
Thank you for the Lord Jesus Christ. We have a savior. No matter how many times Christ Jesus in us, the Christ who is growing up from seed, the Son in us, no matter how many times He messes up or how badly He messes up, we always have our elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world, to jump right in and save us and restore or raise Christ Jesus from the dead, that we can go on with our work of learning how to be Christ.
Continuing with 1 Kings 19:7, "And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee." The word angel is Strong's 4397. It means messenger, priest or prophet, and as we mentioned in the last message or part 2 of Elijah, Christ is both a priest and a prophet. Under the Old Covenant, you could not be a priest and a prophet. The Lord had checks and balances in His governments because He knew that He was dealing with fallen men and that fallen man can be corrupted and that absolute power corrupts absolutely.
So the Lord said, this group of men, you are going to be the prophets, and this group of men, you are going to be the priests, and none of you are going to have all power because it will destroy you, and you will not function in the function that I have called you to, and my people will not be adequately judged or ruled. But in Christ, we can be both priest and prophet because in Christ we are without sin, when we get there. When we get there, we are without sin. Hallelujah.
"And the angel of the Lord," the Hebrew word translated Lord is Jehovah. "And the angel of Jehovah," who is the Lord Jesus Christ or the high priest of Jehovah, "came," Strong's 7725. This word means to renew, and I suggest to you the angel of Jehovah, the Lord Jesus Christ, came in response to Elijah's prayer, and He renewed the mind of Christ in him, even the mind of Christ that had been smitten and broken down because of the sin in Elijah's mind and then the spiritual power of Satan.
It was a twofold fall of the mind of Christ. You must have sin in your mind, and then of course Satan has power, and Satan cannot rise up unless there is sin in your mind. But that mind of Christ that was killed because sin was found in Elijah was set aside, and the mind of Christ was renewed in Elijah because he cried out to his elder brother, Jesus, and Jesus came and raised Christ Jesus from the dead. You had a prophecy. You are going to be raised from the dead. It is going to be Christ Jesus in you. You are going to be raising Him from the dead. Hallelujah. It may have other applications too, but that just came to me right now. Hallelujah.
"And the angel of the Lord came angel of the Lord came again the second time." Now as it reads in the King James, it sounds like the angel came for a second time to Elijah, but I declare to you that is not true. The angel did not come and go away and come back a second time. What happened a second time was that Eli- -- that the mind of Christ was formed in Elijah for the second time. The mind of Christ was formed in Elijah for the second time because it had been destroyed. The first formation of the mind of Christ had been destroyed.
How can I say that? This is how I can say that. The Hebrew word that is translated "a second time" is Strong's 8145. It means again, and the form that appears in the Hebrew Scripture is clearly designated as female in Gesenius's Lexicon. I declare to you we cannot have a female adjective modifying the Lord Jesus Christ. Any adjective modifying the Lord Jesus Christ must be male because He is male, and the gender of the adjective must agree with the noun. The Lord is male, and therefore the adjective must be male. So if the adjective is female, it cannot be modifying the Lord Jesus Christ.
So I suggest to you that the Scripture is saying that the Lord renewed Elijah's carnal mind again, and the renewing of our carnal mind, I remind you, is in the breaking down, the burning with fire of the carnal mind, which frees up the human spirit, the sucking out or the deliverance of the human spirit from the clutches of Satan and the carnal mind, and the joining of our human spirit with the Lord Jesus Christ who will bring forth or form Christ Jesus through that union. That is the renewing of our mind, and we had a whole excellent exhortation on it in a recent message, if you want to renew that.
So the Scripture says not that the angel came again but that the mind of Christ came again. And the reason we can have a female adjective describing the mind of Christ is that this mind of Christ was powerless and dead. Can you hear that? Or we can even say, "And the Lord Jesus Christ renewed Elijah's female human spirit." That is how the adjective can be female. And when Elijah's female human spirit was renewed, in it is renewed form, it became male, even Christ Jesus. Jesus.
Remember, Elijah's carnal mind had been temporarily renewed in an imputed manifestation of Christ when He killed the prophets of Baal. At the time that Elijah lived, there was -- the mechanism to impart a permanent, renewed mind or to impart a permanent, imparting anointing to any man was not yet in effect. The mechanism by which God has determined man's mind will be permanently renewed was not yet available to men. And what is the name of this mechanism?
[INAUDIBLE]
The Lord Jesus Christ. The glorified spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ was not available in a form that could impart a permanent mind of Christ. He was there. We see the Lord Jesus Christ in the Scripture. He was the high priest of Jehovah, but He was not in the same form that He was in after He took on the flesh, overcame His carnal mind, crucified that carnal mind, had His body crucified and was raised from the dead and glorified by the Father and returned to the spirit realm. At that point, He was in a different condition than He was in when He appears in 1 Kings 19.
And the overriding difference or the significance of the difference of the two forms that He was in is that the form that He was in after His resurrection and ascension is a form by which all human beings can receive Him as a permanent, abiding resident in their heart. And the form that He was in with J- -- in the time of J- -- of Elijah was that He was not in a form where He could be a permanent, abiding resident. That is why he had -- Elijah had to cry out, and the mind of Christ had to be renewed again. The Lord Jesus Christ was not a permanent, abiding fixture in a form that could impart a permanent, imparted anointing.
OK, so even -- no matter how man- -- what am I saying? No matter how many times Elijah fell down and cried out and the Lord Jesus Christ came and reformed the mind of Christ, Elijah eventually would have had to have died because the form that the Lord Jesus Christ was in was not a form that could make this condition permanent. It was a continuous existence of the mind of Christ [AUDIO CUTS OUT]
-- and the mind of Christ being built up and the mind of Christ falling down. Now let -- do not go into confusion. We see -- those of us that are moving into Christ see the same thing happening. The mind of Christ is built up, and the mind of Christ falls down, and the mind of Christ is built up, and the mind of Christ falls down. But the bottom line is that in this New Covenant, since the Lord Jesus Christ was glorified and has poured Himself out of His Spirit upon all flesh, this building up and coming down will eventually end with the mind of Christ in us standing up in full stature, therefore eliminating the need to fall down and be built up again at any time in the future.
At the time that Elijah had his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, this just went on indefinitely. The mechanism to put an end to it, that we know as full stature, was not available to the man Elijah. And if anyone is listening to this message and would like to give me an argument about Elijah going up to heaven in fiery chariots, if you think that he never died, that is perfectly all right if you believe that. Please, do not miss the rest of this glorious message because we have a disagreement. Amen.
I say that everyone died and that up until the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ is the first begotten of the dead. He is the first begotten of the Father and the first one to be delivered and resurrected out of this realm of death. Therefore, Enoch and Elijah could not have been taken up to heaven alive because no one did it before the Lord Jesus Christ, so you must have a misunderstanding of the Scripture. Now if you want to let your pride get up and get mad at me, that is really a shame, so if you want to understand this more and you would like to contact me, that is fine. Otherwise, just put it on the shelf.
Jesus Christ is the first one to be raised out from among this realm of death. He is the first one. He is before Elijah. He is before Moses, and He is before Enoch. So you just might have an error in your doctrine. Do not get nervous. Just pray about it. It is not worth getting upset over. The truth is going to set you free.
Alternate Translation -- what did I do? The first third of 1 Kings 19:7, "And Jehovah's high priest renewed Elijah's mind again."
Continuing with the second third of 1 Kings 19:7, "And touched him, and said, Arise and eat." Touched him, this is the word that I was talking to you about at the beginning of the message. It is Strong's 5060. It means to wound and marry. We are going to translate it to wound and marry, as in verse 5. The Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind, and the wounding broke it up. The human spirit was freed up, sucked out from the clutches of the carnal mind and Satan, and the Lord Jesus Christ married that spirit, to wound and to marry.
"And he touched him, and said," 559, Strong's 559, to say, and that means to will in one's heart or to bear forth, to will in one's heart or -- and to cause it to happen. Arise, Strong's 6965, to exist, to go forth and to eat, 398.
Alternate Translation, the second third of 1 Kings 19:7, "And Jehovah's high priest wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit and willed" -- [?I want to take this out?] -- "and willed that Christ Jesus should be born and appear as Elijah's renewed mind and that Elijah should eat the flesh of Christ."
Now I am going to give it to you slowly. There are words missing here. Listen, "And he touched him, and Jehovah's high priest wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit." That is all the word "he touched him." "And Jehovah's high priest said, and Jehovah's high priest willed," said what? "Said, Arise and eat." No, he willed that Christ Jesus should be born and appear as Elijah's renewed mind. "Arise and eat," that Elijah should eat the flesh of Christ. Do you hear this? "And he said, he willed, that Christ Jesus should be born and arise and should appear as Elijah's renewed mind so that Elijah could eat." Eat what? The flesh of Christ.
Amplified translation, the second third of 1 Kings 19:7, "And Jehovah's high priest willed that Christ Jesus should be born in Elijah and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind and wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit."
Let me give that to you again. It is not -- the -- it is not in too good English. We are going to put it all together at the end. "And Jehovah's high priest willed the Christ Jesus should be born in Elijah and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind, and he wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit."
You see, first he willed it, and then he did it. First he willed it, and then he did it. Please note that the last phrase of the above atAlternate Translation, which reads, "And wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit," should be read with the last third of the verse. I am going to carry it over now to the last third of the verse.
The last third of verse 7 says, "Because the journey is too great for thee." So what we are really saying is, "And he wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit because the journey is too great for thee." Can you hear that? The word journey, Strong's 1870, the way anyone is accustomed to go. It is talking about one's mode of worship. It is talking about a lifestyle or the way one worships.
And I suggest to you that with man, we can only worship one of two ways. Either we worship out of Christ, or we worship out of the carnal mind. So the word that is translated journey here is suggesting the Elijah is involved in a carnal form of worship. Well, if his mind is carnal, how could he worship in the spirit? Brethren, you can worship in spirit or truth when your mind is carnal. To worship in spirit and truth, you have to get the equipment to do it, and the equipment that worships in spirit and truth is the mind of Christ.
This word translated -- the same word translated journey is translated in Amos 8:14 as the way -- speaking about Beersheba, the way of Beersheba, and what it means is that in Beersheba, the way -- their lifestyle is to worship -- the worship of idols. So that is just something to witness to you that this word translated journey, which really means that way, is speaking about a form of worship.
The word "is" is not in the Hebrew, "Because the journey too great for thee." Too great, Strong's 7227, it means great. It means magnitude. It means leader. It means chief. This phrase is the -- is translated from the same Hebrew word which is translated enough in verse 4, and in verse 4 we translated it elder. Another translation is elder, master, the Lord Jesus Christ. In verse 4, they translated this powerful that is signifying the Lord Jesus Christ as enough, and in verse 7, they translate this powerful word as too great. It is definitely diminishing its power.
The interlinear says that way -- says that this word way is a course of life that is the lifestyle of a prophet. So we see, depending on the modifying elements of the whole idea, this Hebrew word translated way or journey means either a lifestyle in the carnal mind or a lifestyle in Christ.
Alternate Translation, the third third of 1 Kings 19:7. Now I am carrying over the last phrase of the second third. "And wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit because of Elijah's lifestyle of carnal worship."
That is why the Lord Jesus Christ arose and formed the mind of Chr- -- that is why the -- I am sorry. The Lord Jesus Christ arose and wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit, because Elijah's lifestyle was carnal, and when your spirit is joined to the carnal mind, you are worshipping Satan. You can say any words you want. You can say alleluia, alleluia, glory to God, Hosanna to the Most Highest. Brethren, when your human spirit is joined to your carnal mind, it does not matter what words you are saying. Your lifestyle is the worship of Satan and his carnal mind.
And we have a whole church full of people praising Jesus with their mouth saying, Lord, Lord, but obeying Satan. Jesus said they say, Lord, Lord, but they do not obey Me. The true worship is obedience and submission. It is not waving your hand and saying alleluia, alleluia when you are dressed in your Sunday best. And I am sorry if I am harsh, but the -- I -- you have -- whoever is hearing this message, you have got to wake up. The true worship is obedience and submission to Christ.
So we see that the reason that the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind and married his spirit was to save him out of a lifestyle of carnal worship. Now why would the Lord Jesus Christ want to save him out of a lifestyle of carnal worship? Because a lifestyle of carnal worship results in death, amen.
Alternate Translation, the whole of 1 Kings 19:7, "And Jehovah's high priest renewed Elijah's mind again and willed that Christ Jesus should be born in Elijah and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind. And the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind because he was worshipping her." Who? The carnal mind. "And then He married Elijah's spirit."
Amplified translation, 1 Kings 19:7, "And Jehovah's high priest willed that Christ Jesus should be born in Elijah and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind. And the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind again because Elijah was worshipping her, and He married Elijah spirit, and Elijah's mind was renewed."
Recap, 1 Kings 19:6-7, "And he -- and Elijah looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind. And the Father's seed penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit. And Christ Jesus was formed and tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's soul was made alive. And when Elijah was converted, his carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ, and she became sick, and she died."
"And Jehovah's high priest willed that Christ Jesus should be born in Elijah and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind. And the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind again because Elijah was worshipping her, and He married Elijah spirit, and Elijah's mind was renewed."
So we see when the King James says the angel came again, what really happened was that the angel wounded Elijah's carnal mind again. We can say he renewed Elijah's carnal mind again, but it is more powerful to say the angel had smitten Elijah's carnal mind. He went out. He killed the prophets of Baal, and he fell down, and he cried out to God. And the Lord Jesus Christ came and wounded his carnal mind again. He said, how dare you raise up your head against my servant? And He wounded him again, and He redid the procedure, and He renewed Elijah's mind again. And Christ Jesus was formed in Elijah again, and Elijah's carnal mind became sick and died. Hallelujah. That is why we have a savior.
Now I am going to -- that is all we are going to do today. I only had two verses for you, but I have interspersed verses and refined it two or three times, so I would like you to bear with me as I read you these Alternate Translations, as I refine them and intersperse them. I like to do that so that it is on the message, how I got these Alternate Translations, so please bear with me. I am going to read them about two or three times.
Recap, 1 Kings 19:3-7, verses 3 and 4 interspersed, "And at the time that Elijah yielded to Satan's thoughts, he rebelled against Christ and deserted Him, and Elijah's human spirit was joined to Satan, and Satan strengthened Elijah's carnal mind, Satan's high priest, who was held captive by Christ. And Elijah married and had intercourse with his carnal mind, and Elijah's carnal mind rose up hostilely and sacrificed Christ unto Satan. "
"And Elijah stopped worshipping Christ, and Christ vanished underneath Elijah's carnal mind, and Elijah became joined to his dead soul.
And Christ Jesus tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's carnal mind became spiritually weak, and she dried up and died." That was verse 5.
Now we are taking verse 7 before verse 6. Verse 7, "And Jehovah's high priest willed that Christ Jesus should be born in Elijah and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind. And the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind again because Elijah was worshipping her, and He married Elijah spirit, and Elijah's mind was renewed."
Verse 6, "And he looked -- and Elijah looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind. And the Father's seed penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit. And Christ Jesus was formed and tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot, and Elijah's soul was made alive. And when Elijah was converted, his carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ, and she became sick and died."
Now I took that, and I have now interspersed verses 5 through 7. They were all sequentially out of order. I am going to read you now verses 5 through 7 in the right sequence.
"And, behold, Jehovah's high priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to Elijah, the one who was joined to his soul, and willed the Christ Jesus should be born in him and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as his renewed mind. And Elijah looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind. And the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind again because Elijah was worshipping her, and the Father's seed penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit.
"And the mind of Christ arose in Elijah, and Elijah's carnal mind became spiritually weak when his Christ mind was renewed. And Elijah's carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ Jesus, and Christ Jesus tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot. And Elijah's carnal mind dried up, and she died, and then Satan became sick, and he died. And Elijah was converted, and Christ Jesus married Elijah's soul, and Elijah's soul was made alive." We could say, "And his soul was made alive again." Let me put that in, again. I like that, again. He was raised from the dead, brethren. Elijah died, and he was raised from the dead.
Now if you would just bear with me, I would like to read our Alternate -- our interspersed Alternate Translation of 1 Kings 19:3-7, starting with verses 3 and 4 interspersed.
"And at the time that Elijah yielded to Satan's thoughts, he rebelled against Christ and deserted Him, and Elijah's human spirit was joined to Satan, and Satan strengthened Elijah's carnal mind, Satan's high priest, who was held captive by Christ.
And Elijah willed within himself and requested that his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, should crucify his enemy, the carnal mind, and marry his hostile soul quickly. And he acknowledged that his carnal mind was not Christ, the Son of his true Father, Jehovah."
And after he willed this, after he prayed this, he looked, and, behold, Jehovah's high priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to him." Hallelujah, "came to Elijah, the one who was joined to his soul, and willed the Christ Jesus should be born in him and that Elijah should eat His flesh so that Christ Jesus would appear as Elijah's renewed mind."
"And Elijah looked, and there was his elder brother, the Lord Jesus Christ, shooting His fiery arrows into Elijah's carnal mind. And the Lord Jesus Christ wounded Elijah's carnal mind again because Elijah was worshipping her, and the Father's seed penetrated Elijah's soul and joined with his human spirit. And the mind of Christ arose in Elijah, and Elijah's carnal mind became spiritually weak when his Christ mind was renewed."
"And Elijah's carnal mind prostrated herself before Christ Jesus, and Christ Jesus tread Elijah's carnal mind underfoot. And Elijah's carnal mind dried up, and she died, and Satan became sick, and he died. And Elijah was converted, and Christ Jesus married Elijah's soul, and Elijah's soul was made alive again. Elijah was raised from the dead after his rebellion against God."
Hallelujah. Glory to God. Look up. Any questions?
Sheila, you have said before that Christ Jesus was the only one that raised from the dead, and just now you said Elijah was raised from the dead. Now what is the difference between those two [CROSSTALK]
Between Christ Jesus being raised from the dead and Elijah being raised from the dead? The difference is that when Christ Jesus -- oh, you were talking -- you mean what I was saying about the Lord Jesus Christ? Oh, what I meant was it was a temporary resurrection of the dead. Coming from the context that when the mind in you is Christ, you are alive, and when the mind in you is carnal, you are dead. But Elijah did not have the experience of the Lord Jesus Christ whereby he was physically killed and raised from the dead. Elijah died spiritually because the Christ mind died, and then he was spiritually raised from the dead. OK? Hallelujah.
In other words, for all intents and purposes, Elijah was in full stature. When he did that incredible feat of challenging the prophets of Baal and then killing them, I believe he was in full stature, but it was a temporary full stature, and he died. When he fell down out of full stature, spiritually, he died. OK? When his Christ mind died, yeah.
[INAUDIBLE] woven.
The garment?
Yeah, the garment is fully woven. Is that full stature then, [?when you cannot?] [INAUDIBLE]
Yeah, I believe it is full stature and that the woven garment, the completed woven garment, is referring to the mind of Christ, which is Christ Jesus. I believe that. That is just a different way of expressing the same idea. It is the mind of Christ who has so completely interwoven Himself with the carnal mind that the carnal mind is powerless.
Now I had a good question from someone in a letter the other day, and he said to me, how could the carnal mind be woven together with the mind of Christ since Satan is not subject nor can be subjected to the law of God? And what I realized is that I have to be very careful the way I phrase these things because, technically speaking, the carnal mind is not woven together with the mind of Christ.
In order for this garment to be woven -- this woven garment that you up -- see up there, with the woof going from heaven to earth and the warp going around the circle of the earth, that is a diagram of a man's renewed mind, OK. And, technically speaking, Christ is not woven together to the carnal mind. Christ is woven together or joined to the human spirit that was in the carnal mind because, actually, technically, what happens is that when Christ comes upon the carnal mind, the fire of His life breaks down the carnal mind. The apostle Peter talks about the elements melting and coming down with a crash.
Remember, the carnal mind is the bastard female offspring of Satan and Eve, so she must be dissolved, and when the carnal mind is dissolved, what we have left is Satan and Eve or Satan and the human spirit. The bastard offspring is dissolved. So, technically speaking, the weaving together of the garment is the weaving together of the mind of Christ with Satan, not the carnal mind.
Now Eve -- let me back up. After the carnal mind dissolves or is melted, Eve marries Christ, and she is now a part of the mind of Christ, so we have the mind of Christ and Satan. So all these intelligent people that are studying with me, they catch me in all these little details, but I thank God for it. So the technicality is that the mind of Christ is woven together with Satan, not with the carnal mind. Can you hear it? Did I answer your question? OK. Glory to God. It was a good point. It was a hu- -- excellent point. Thank you, Jesus.
You see, the carnal mind is a bastard, illegal mind that must be dissolved. Let me say it again. And Eve -- and when the carnal mind has dissolved, Eve is freed up, and Satan remains. When we burn the carnal mind, we wind up with Eve and Satan. Eve marries the mind of Christ, and now we know Eve or the human spirit now marries the mind of Christ, and what we have is the human spi- -- what we have is the mind of Christ and Satan, and the weaving together is between the mind of Christ and Satan. OK, did I make it clear? OK. Hallelujah. Good question. Anybody else?
[INAUDIBLE]
[INAUDIBLE]
Yeah.
[INAUDIBLE]
Yeah.
[?Electrifying?].
Yeah, well, it really blessed me. It is giving me a lot of hope, and some of you know that I had an experience not too long ago where I do not know whether my carnal -- I do not believe my carnal -- I do not believe my -- the mind of Christ in me died, but I -- He was sick. That was what the Lord told me, that when I went through this trial, that the Christ mind in me was sick unto death. And you might recall, in the Alternate Translation that I just read you, it is very clear that the death of the carnal mind came in two stages. She became sick, and she died.
Now when I went through this sever trial not too long ago, Christ in me was sick. Someone even had a dream that He was in the hospital, that this Christ -- that this child, that I knew to be the Christ child, was in the hospital with big wounds on Him. And if the Lord did not come and save me, He probably would have died, so my experience was unto sickness but not unto death. But I believe, according to this message, that even if Christ in you dies, that the Lord Jesus Christ is full well able to raise Him from the dead.
So I do not think He died in you. I think He is sick, and I think He is going to recover, and I think the Lord Jesus Christ is moving rapidly to bring this healing and this repairing. Praise God. But even if I should be wrong, if He did die, He will just reform all over again. I believe that, but He has to wound you. Your carnal mind has to be wounded. He is too strong. And why is he too strong? Because there is rebellion present in you. I mean, this whole message is for you.
Let me just read you the beginning again. "And at the time that Elijah yielded to Satan's thoughts," which is what happened to you, "he rebelled against Christ," which is what you did, and you deserted him, Christ. You ran from the ministry that you were called to. And then Eli- -- what happened next? "Elijah's human spirit was joined to Satan, and Satan strengthened Elijah's carnal mind." Your carnal mind rose up. Well, then I do not know how far it went with you. I do not really think it went this far with you, but it is really not important whether it went this far or not. The Lord Jesus Christ --
[INAUDIBLE]
That Christ was completely killed in you. I do not think so, but it does not even matter. What matters is that the Lord Jesus Christ is full well able to wound your carnal mind again and to seed you with the life of His spirit and to join with your human spirit and to raise up your Christ mind either our of the sickbed or out of the grave, whichever. It does not make any difference. The Lord Jesus Christ is strong enough to do it, and I believe He intends to do it.
I believe you have cried out and asked Him to, and I believe that He heard you and that He has already started. But what He is doing right now is He has got -- He has to deal with that rebellion that let this whole thing come to pass because it is just been g- -- happening to you over and over and over. And because of His love for you, because of His great love for you, He is going to deal with the rebellion, which is the weakness in you which has let this come to pass. And He is going to fix you, that it will not ever happen again. I believe that. I believe that with all my heart.
