Subject: Thank You For Message On Curses

Dear Pastor Vitale,
I have just finished reading the online message, "Curses, The Fruit of Evil Thoughts 12/07/98." I was really, really blessed by it. I thank God for giving understanding and thank you for bringing it forth.
Recently, I have been asking God about all the disasters, deaths etc that I see happening to people around me. There is so much pain in this world. Over the past few months, I have been hearing news of people I know dying tragically and young, some Christians, some not. I guess even though I know that this world is hell and eternal life is only in Christ Jesus, I still wondered about the tragedy surrounding these people's lives/deaths.
Most people and churches these days say "so and so has gone to be with God" or "God called them to be with Him in Heaven." I have always felt sad when I heard that because I know this is not true. But yet, I did not quite understand it until I read the OLM, that such tragedy is caused by inherited family sin (and our everyday sinful thoughts).
I really thank God that He is Merciful, even though we are mostly blind and do not even realise that He is working to save us.
These last 2 years have been trying for me, but I thank God nothing like serious illness and I also thank God that things are turning around. I guess up until reading the message I had this victim mentality like I was being afflicted. I now see it differently that "there is no law for a righteous man" and that there had to be room for the things that happened to happen, possibly family line sin and also my sin. (Is this right?)
