XXX,
I see I did not respond to your sentence below:
“Besides Genesis 1:26. Many scholars have always been at odds with this scripture on what it might mean.”
Gen 1:26
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. KJV
The image of God is the nature of God. Jesus referred to this “image” as the “shape of the Father.”
John 5:37
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. KJV
John 14:9
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? KJV
The Old Testament speaks about the “image of Jealousy.”
Ezek 8:3
3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy. KJV
Ezek 8:5
5 Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry. KJV
This is the image that the Serpent engraved in the Holy Substance that Adam was made of. This image of jealousy is the image, or nature, which is engraved upon mortal man, the descendants of Adam, who fell from grace. It is the image, or nature, that God is jealous of, because mankind is supposed to be in the image of God, but is not.
“after our likeness”
The Hebrew word translated “likeness” means "similar." Mortal man is “similar” to God in that we are made from the Holy Substance (spiritual clay) that contains Jehovah’s breath. The part of us that is similar to God is the human spirit, which is the breath of Jehovah that was imparted to the spiritual earth that Adam was formed from.
In other words, for all intents and purposes, we, mortal humanity exist because the breath that Jehovah breathed into Adam continues to sustain our consciousness, even after the Holy Substancet was captured by the Serpent and reformed into her corrupt image, even the image that God is jealous of.
“and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth”
This verse is speaking about the spiritual creation that Elohim made out of Jehovah’s substance. It is not speaking about a physical man in an animal body. The bodies we have today are the result of Adam's (and Noah, Shem, Ham and Japheth's) Fall.
Adam was a being made of Light. Understanding Adam’s true condition at the time of his creation is beyond me at this time. I do not know anyone who can accurately understand or describe who or what Adam (man) was when he was first created.
You will not understand what I am about to say with your carnal mind, so pray and ask the Lord to raise up Christ in you before you read my explanation.
Adam was created on the sixth day because he was the element of the creation that would encompass the whole. Jesus called this world outer darkness. What He meant is that all of the spiritual, invisible worlds are within this physical world, represented by the physical body, just like all of our organs, blood, etc. are hidden behind our skin.
Modern science tells us that each and every one of our trillions of cells is conscious on the cellular level. This means that each of our organs and bodily systems has some kind of consciousness which is inferior to the consciousness of the man of which they are a part.
The last part of Gen 1:26, as quoted above is speaking about the internal workings of the Light Being called “Adam.” These are the “organs” of the Light Being called Adam that have their own level of conscious which are inferior to the consciousness of the whole man, Adam, who is both male and female.
Elohim made Adam on the sixth day because Adam was the living “skin,” or the “whole” consciousness of Elohim’s many-membered creation. All of the beasts, reptiles, etc. describe Adam’s internal organs. The term “Adam” represents the sum of all the parts of the creation, i.e., the whole man.
God bless you,
Sincerely in Christ,
