Did Jesus Die Spiritually? - Part 1

Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2004

Subject: Re: Did Jesus die spiritually when He was crucified?

xxxxxx: Here is what I received as scriptural truth: 1 Timothy 3:16 God was manifested in the flesh, JUSTIFIED IN THE SPIRIT.

[Pastor Vitale says:] "Justified" means “to make righteous.” Jesus was born as a human being, with a carnal mind that He inherited from Mary, and the Holy Spirit that He inherited from His Father. Jesus was made righteous (justified) when He brought the carnal mind that He received from Mary into submission to the Spirit of Holiness within Himself (Rom 1:4)

xxxxxx: Interpreted as such: Having died in spiritual terms as well as in physical terms, He needed to be make alive in both as well. Isaiah 53:9 said they made his grave with the rich man at His death which, in Hebrew, is plural deaths. I take that to mean physical and spiritual.

[Pastor Vitale says:] Alternate Translation of Is 53:9:

(Words from the King James Translation appear in parentheses “( ),” and amplifications according to the Doctrine of Christ appear in square brackets “[ ].”)

Work Up of Is 53:9:

[Christ], who was appointed to [experience the death of the] physical body (grave) was, [nevertheless], considered to be (and with) noble (rich), because He never used deceitful speech (mouth) to acquire unjust gain (violence)

[Christ], who was appointed to [experience the death of the] physical body was, [nevertheless], considered to be noble, because He never used deceitful speech [witchcraft] to acquire unjust gain [Spiritual supremacy over mankind]

Alternate Translation Is 53:9, According To The Doctrine Of Christ:

Is 53:9: [Christ], who was appointed to [experience the death of the] physical body was, [nevertheless], considered to be noble, because He never used deceitful speech, [which is the sin of witchcraft], to unjustly gain [spiritual supremacy over], or to acquire [the souls of, mankind].

xxxxxx: Acts 13:239 through Acts 13:34 (v33) God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: You are My Son, Today I have begotten you. (He said in a sermon that Jesus was born again.)

The other scriptures to explain this are: Ro:4:25, Isa. 53:l through Isa. 53:12 (in caps) :You make His soul an offering for sin.

[Pastor Vitale says:] Jesus offered up the soul life (carnal mind) that He inherited from Mary, which was His own sin nature, so that the Christ nature that He received from His Father would be the only nature expressed through Him. The result of this great accomplishment is that Jesus became the unblemished righteousness of God, and Saviour of the world.

xxxxxx: When He died, He became sin.

[Pastor Vitale says:] Jesus never died, because you cannot kill life, and He never became sin, because righteousness and sin are incompatible:

WITNESS: 2 Cor 6:14, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? KJV

KJV-2 Cor 5:21, For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. KJV

Work Up of 2 Cor 5:21:

[Adam]* who never knew intimately (knew) the Serpent (sin), acquired the form of (made-4160) a sinner** (sin) so that [the Mind of Christ might be assembled*** (might be made-1096) in us the righteousness of God.

* The Scripture says that Jehovah placed Adam in the Garden twice (Gen. 2:8 and Gen. 2:15), but the two occurrences of the English word "put"  are rendered from two different Hebrew words (Strong’s # 7760, in the first instance, and Strong’s # 3240 in the second instance). This is the beginning of the mystery of the male and a female aspect of Adam (1 Cor 15:45), who is the image of God (Gen 1:27).

The female aspect of Adam was overcome by the Serpent, died, and is now appearing as mortal man. But the male aspect of Adam remained above with Jehovah until the day that He entered into the earth to rescue the female aspect of Himself that fell into the spiritual pit (Lk 19:10), which is our world.

**Our “form” is determined by the mind that lives through us.

The physical body, which is in the form of an animal, is generated by the carnal mind. In order for Christ to have been born of a woman, with a physical body, He had to have a carnal mind, because God does not form His children as animals!

Oh, so you thought that Jesus was born in a building called a stable, where animals were kept? No, my friend, the male aspect of Adam, the glorious Son of God that remained above with Jehovah when His female aspect died and fell into the earth, was INSIDE OF the physical child, Jesus, who was in the form of a human animal, in the likeness of Mary, who bare Him. (See, also, Message # 433, Christ In The Manger,Part 1Part 2, & Luke 2:1-20 in the Alternate Translation of the New Testament.)

But Jesus of Nazareth brought the carnal mind that He inherited from Mary into submission to the Spirit of Holiness that He inherited from His Father (Rom. 1:4) and, eventually, the glorious Son of God within the man, Jesus, married Jesus, the Son of Man (Adam), and the two became one new glorified man (Eph 2:15) in the image and likeness of the Father. And this is how Jesus of Nazareth became a manifestation of God in the flesh of mankind. (See, also Crucifixion of Christ.)

WITNESS-Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: KJV

***The relationship of Cain and Abel, the two sides of our mortal foundation, determines whether or not we are righteous. When Abel is buried under Cain’s ground, Cain is married to Leviathan and serves Satan, and the whole man is a spiritually dead sinner. But when Abel is rightfully ruling over Cain, Abel is married to Christ and serving the Lord Jesus, which condition imputes righteous to the whole man, who is alive because of Christ, our righteousness (Jer 23:6).

Alternate Translation Of 2 Cor 5:21

(Words from the King James Translation appear in parentheses “( ),” and amplifications according to the Doctrine of Christ appear in square brackets “[ ].”)

2 Cor 5:21 - [The male aspect of Adam], who never knew the Serpent intimately, acquired the form of a sinner so that [the Mind of Christ, which is the righteousness of God], might be assembled in [in mortal mankind].

xxxxxx: This is a spiritual condition. 11 Corinthians 5:21

[Pastor Vitale says:] Yes, death is a spiritual condition

xxxxxx: Please help me in understanding this doctrine, that Jesus died spiritually

[Pastor Vitale says:] This is a false doctrine. Jesus did not die spiritually or physically. He was resurrected out of the physical body of Jesus of Nazareth.*

*Jesus called the physical body a "grave" (Matt 23:27)). Read the truth about Jesus' Resurrection: The Crucifixion Of Christ.

xxxxxx: and was born again. Thanks, In His love XXXXXX

The female aspect of Adam, who died in the Garden, was born again in the man, Jesus of Nazareth, that's why Paul said that Jesus, the Christ, was "the last Adam" (1 Cor 15:45), and Jesus said that He was the beginning (first Adam) and the end (last Adam) (Rev 22:13). (See, also, Adam And The Two Judgments.)

Pastor Vitale says:] You have asked some excellent questions. May the Lord quicken His truth to you, that you may prosper in Him to the uttermost, and fulfill the call on your life.

God bless you

Sincerely in Christ,

Sheila R. Vitale,
