The Question Of Tattoos

Brethren’s Question: I have a question about tattoos. Is the only reason behind not getting a tattoo due to the blood transfer from the needles and not knowing what that blood line holds of any previous tattoo recipients?

          PASTOR VITALE: NO.

Brethren’s Question: My sisters and I talked about getting a “sisters” tattoo years ago and I had agreed at that time. This was before I knew the dangers of blood lines. We had originally planned to get a tattoo with 4 hearts (one for each of us). My sisters are now planning to get a date on the calendar to get the tattoo done. I am unsure of what to do.

My question is, is the only concern with tattoos the needles being used on previous individuals or is there more to the reason to not get one?

PASTOR VITALE: THERE ARE SPIRITUAL REASONS TO NOT GET A TATTOO. SEE MY DISCUSSION AT THE END OF MY RESPONSE TO YOUR EMAIL.

Brethren’s Question: If I went ahead with this tattoo and requested a brand new needle (if this is a thing) is that ok, do you think?

          PASTOR VITALE: NO

Brethren’s Question: I understand that it is doing something to our body, but my question is also then, didn’t we do this with ear piercing

PASTOR VITALE: EAR PEIRCING IS NOT “MAKING AN IMAGE”

Brethren’s Question: and aren’t our bodies fallen nature anyway?

PASTOR VITALE: YES, OUR BODIES ARE FALLEN, BUT YOUR BODY DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU ANYMORE. IT BELONGS TO JESUS:

     1 Cor 6:13

13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.   KJV

     1 Cor 6:19

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?   KJV

     1 Cor 3:16-17

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.   KJV

Brethren’s Question: Can you help me understand more about if I should politely bow out and what to say

PASTOR VITALE: THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS THE BEST WAY: I FOUND OUT THAT MARKING MY BODY AND PARTICIPATING IN A BLOOD OATH DOES NOT PLEASE THE LORD, SO I AM SORRY, BUT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP TO MYPLEDGE TO BE A PART OF THIS PLAN

Brethren’s Question: or if I can do this if I am guaranteed a brand new needle (if this is even a thing)?

PASTOR VITALE: THE ANSWER TO THE SPIRITUAL ISSUE MAKES THE HEALTH ISSUE MOOT

Brethren’s Question: They want me to make a decision and I just want to be righteous in my choice. I’ll be honest, if I could be guaranteed a brand new needle - and this was the only concern - I would want to get one done with them. But again, I want to make the righteous decision. When you have some time, can you shed some light on this subject for me? Thank you!

God bless you, T

Brethren’s Response to Pastor:

Thank you SO very much for this!  I truly appreciate your time and answers.

I will not be getting a tattoo.

Love, T

THE QUESTION OF TATTOOS

A Biblical Perspective

     Ex 20:1-5

1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;   KJV

General Discussion

     Lev 19:28

28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.   KJV

First of all, the Hebrew word translated, dead, is Strong’s # 5315, which means, soul. In addition, that word is preceded by a prefix, the Hebrew letter, lamed, which means, widowed.

“The widowed soul should not make any incisions in the flesh [of the body that it is attached to], or make any marks or print upon it. [This commandment is given by], I AM Jehovah, [the highest combined Name of God that includes the Name, Jehovah].

The widowed soul, the soul that is not attached to Jehovah, is the soul of Adam, the son of God who died in the previous age. He has been known as the First Adam, ever since Christ was raised in Jesus of Nazareth, and Jesus became the Second Adam:

     1 Cor 15:47

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man (Adam)  is the Lord from heaven.  KJV

This Scripture is speaking about your motive for cutting yourself, the motive of your soul, which is dead because of sin:

     Eph 2:1

2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;  KJV

A Blood Oath

According to Paul, your dead soul has been made alive – by faith! The reality has not happened yet. If our dead soul was truly made alive, our body would no longer get sick and die.

So, the question is, why do you want to cut or mark your body?

In your case, the motive seems to be, to create a bond that is greater than the fact that you were all born from the same parents. In fact, the suggested bond, which is the subject of this discussion, is actually a vow that is sealed by the shedding of blood. In other words, we are talking about a blood oath. A blood oath that commits you to what? That nothing will ever separate you? What if the day comes (may it never come) that you must choose between your sisters and Jesus?

Now, you are already a party to a blood oath, and that is your commitment to Jesus. You are bound to Jesus by his blood, or his DNA, which is Christ in you, the Second Adam. You no longer belong to yourself, so you, the First Adam, has no authority to make a vow or swear an oath (make a promise) to anyone:

     Matt 5:34

34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:    KJV

A Single Tatoo

Your body is God’s house. He lives there. Any mark that you put on your body, is a form of identification. So, if you mark yourself with a single butterfly, for instance, you have now identified God with a butterfly, which is a lie. God is the Spirit of Truth, wherefore, marking your body with a lie, dishonors him. We do not know what God looks like, so we can never make a true image of him. He is the invisible God, and  Christ, who must be spiritually discerned, is his only image.

     Col 1:15

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:   KJV

Multiple Tatoos & Pain

I am told that many of the people who mark themselves with multiple tattoos, enjoy the pain. Pagan gods and demons require pain as a form of worship. Even if the person does not realize that their pain is an offering to a pagan god, it is, in fact, an offering to their widowed soul, the First Adam, and any of the deities that rule over humanity by his authority.

I was blessed by this teaching! My sister just got a tattoo and I wondered what I would say to her about it. And it's not small either, it's a very large purple flower with many leaves on her arm! Thank you so much! ~ Rose
