I thought I remember seeing a question and answer on what the Doctrine of Christ is on your web site, but can't find it. Do you have anything like that? The reason I ask is for those who are wanting more information on what we are all about.
So if you don't have a straight forward question on this, could you explain to me what the Doctrine of Christ is?
In the Scripture “doctrine” is not so different from “gospel.” “Gospel” means “good news” and “doctrine” means the “instruction” or “teaching” of the good news – what it is all about, what it means to us, etc.
“The Doctrine of Christ” is the teaching or instruction about Christ: Who He is, how He died and rose again on the third day, what His mission is, and what Christ means to the individual believer and the whole Body of Christ.
Some other doctrines are:
4 For thou[Job] hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. KJV
2 For I [some say Solomon] give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. KJV
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine. KJV
12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. KJV
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. KJV
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. KJV
2 Tim 3:10
10 But thou hast fully known my [Paul’s] doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience… KJV
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. KJV
6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God… KJV
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. KJV
2 John 9
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. KJV
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. KJV
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. KJV
God bless you.
