UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRIT OF INFIRMITY

The spirit of infirmity is a primary cause of spiritual and physical illness, plagues, and diseases. Even if this spirit causes not all illnesses, most are commonly connected to it.

Often, the spirit of infirmity employs various strategies to manifest in people's lives. Unforgiveness or resentment is one of its gateways. When an individual refuses to let go of bitterness and anger, the spirit thrives in them. The book of Luke 10 shows us that forgiveness is intertwined with deliverance from suffering.

Secondly, direct attacks from hell also introduce the spirit of infirmity. The enemy targets people’s health in the spiritual realm which eventually manifests in their physical bodies. Job, a character in the Bible, is an example of a victim of the spirit of infirmity from hell (Job 2:7).

The weapons Christians have against the spirit of infirmity is the gift of divine authority through prayer provided to us by Jesus. Matthew 28 explains how this divine authority renders the enemy useless. The name of Jesus also defeats this spirit and permits a Christian to do supernatural exploits.
